Introducing the Tii Shirt!

Filed under: Apparel, Nintendo | Comments (0)

Yes I know it’s not the most original name but I’m a sucker for all things exploded, and to have an exploded diagram of the Wii-mote on a Tee is very cool indeed!

Use the wrist strap so the only place you’ll have to see the insides of the beloved Wii Remote is on this t-shirt. This isometric exploded view was handcrafted and placed on a soft American Apparel shirt with a few hits of teal ink. Game with style.

This tee will set you back $20.00 from Wire and twine.com

Meet The Sandvich Video

Filed under: Latest News, PC, Steam, Video | Comments (0)

sandvich

One of the Heavy’s unlockable weapons is actually food and is called The Sandvich.

It tastes as good as it looks and heals 120 health. Like in real life, the decision to eat a Sandvich must not be taken lightly; The Heavy is completely vulnerable during the four second eating process, and his loud, happy sounds of vigorous chewing will draw enemies like tiny ant cowards to a picnic. OF DEATH. On the bright side, the Heavy’s Sandvich supply is unlimited, so his only real concern is being caught short while enjoying this delicious edible device. The Sandvich is a great tool for a Heavy defending an area, as it gives him the ability to replenish health between enemy waves without having to abandon his post. Similarly, an offensive Heavy without a Medic can step back from the front line and grab a quick snack before resuming his rampage. Beware, however: the Heavy must set aside his shotgun to take the Sandvich, and enemy Snipers are much more dangerous for a Heavy wielding only a minigun.

New Resident Evil 5 Trailer

An extended version of original trailer, this looks absolutely stunning although not as revolutionary as Resident Evil 4, but still, it promises to continue the high standard set by it’s predecessor.

Arena Mode

Filed under: Latest News, PC, Steam | Comments (0)

Today Valve teases us with the penultimate update on the Heavy update for Team Fortress 2. Called Arena Mode, it is effectively a stripped down variation on your standard control point game, involving just one capture point, shorter rounds and only life per player.

A win is awarded to the team left standing at the end, or to who captures the point as a result the game incredibly quick and can be won or lost depending which classes are in your team, or depending on the tactics chosen. And even though the maps are quite small they can still comfortably support anywhere between three vs three or twelve-on-twelve brawls. (Read on …)

Master Chief Disguised As Samus Aran

Filed under: Arts & Crafts, Latest News, Merchandise, Microsoft, Nintendo | Comments (1)

null

So would you call him Master Aran (sounds vaguely “Mysterious Kung Fu Master” to me) or Samus Chief? Or could this be the Bounty Hunter herself?

This custom paint job for the Master Chief was born out of the result of speculation about how closely the Master Chief looks to Samus Aran. The figure was made using the Body and the arms of the EOD variant armour and the C.Q.B variant helmet, it was then painted to match Samus’ Varia suit.

Created by eBay user deathwind000, who promises the paint won’t rub or chip off, it can be yours for a very reasonable starting bid of $1 and shipping for $7.

From the mind of French designer John Nouanesing comes the Geekini, a very desirable NES controller (female not included). This is only a concept piece at the moment (aren’t they all), but if it were to ever go into production then you can take the Wiimote and shove it, I’m going old skool.

More pics after the jump ;)

Natascha

Filed under: PC, Steam | Comments (0)

Valve introduces us to Natascha, which you could say is Sasha’s weaker little sister because she takes longer to kill. Also If Natascha hits you, it will slow you down so it might not be such a good idea to go charging into battle against her.

Having said that it’s suggested that Natascha would be best utilised on fleeing cowards, such as Scouts & Medics and not anyone on a killing spree.

Now this is my kind of arcade machine… it’s yellow :)

Looking like something from the control deck of a Pan American spaceplane, Martijn Koch’s Retro Space packs in arcade-quality Sanwa joysticks, pushbuttons, an Su20 trackball and includes over 100 licensed arcade classics and a suite of emulators. The cabinet also functions as an HD media jukebox, with a 2×90 watt speaker system and everything visual displayed on a 24-inch 1920×1200 monitor.

As expected there is no price on the website, but you can contact Martijn Koch for a price list and order form.

The Art Of Braid

Filed under: Latest News, Microsoft, Xbox Live | Comments (0)

From the sounds of the sales data and high reviews for Braid, a lot of people are playing it and more importantly a lot of people love it too.

And who can blame them, I myself am part of the masses that have been playing Braid over the past week and I think it’s safe to say that along with Portal, Braid has helped push not just gaming, but playing closer to becoming art.

Both games represent amazing uniqueness, visual flare and while soft on the edges contain a fiendishly hard centre. While Portal relies on the Portal gun to make the straight forward seem impossible and vice versa, Braid uses time to create a similar puzzling environment. Where Braid is different though is with the living canvas that the games’ the world has been set in.

Artist David Hellman, who collaborated with Jonathan Blow to create Braid’s visual style, has explained the processes involved in going from the rough blocks of Blow’s unfinished game to the finished product we see today. Communicating by email both David and Jonathon go back forth throwing conceptual work across cyberspace and slowly the final look was created.

If you’d like to know in greater detail how Braid came to look how it looks read David’s own words at Gamasutra
